As our expertise in Arthroscopy in other joints has progressed, hip arthroscopy is showing itself to be an important tool in the diagnosis and treatment of unexplained hip pain, acetabular labral tears, loose bodies, synovitis, articular cartilage damage and the pre-arthritic condition. It has also been used successfully to treat cases with osteonecrosis and AVN. With the expertise gained in achieving multiple portals much of the hip joint can now be visualized as well as accessed.
